The chair rail and the shadow box wainscoting pictured above consists of two piece or two member chair rail
that has a large back band or mullion as the first piece and the a more detailed and decorated chair rail as the
second piece. The shadow boxes are made of a base cap molding, but can be made of other moldings such as
smaller Astragal or panel molding. The chair rail is attached to the wall at the studs and the panel molding is
attached using small brad nails and wood glue.
