CROWN MOLDING INSTALLATION
Crown molding is installed where the wall meets the ceiling. Most ceilings are between eight and
eleven feet but we can also install crown molding on higher ceilings. Crown molding can be
made from various materials but we mostly use a finger jointed pine that is primed making it
easier to paint the crown molding after installation. We also use hardwoods such as maple or oak
or a clear pine for stain grade applications such as kitchen cabinet crown molding. Our most
frequent and popular molding installed is a one member (piece) crown molding, about four
inches wide(see crown molding pic above). We professionally install your crown molding
ensuring that we attach it to the studs and not just the drywall! Once the crown molding is
installed we fill our nail holes and caulk the seams where the crown molding meets the wall and
the ceiling, this is always the case for a paint grade installation. The painter normally performs
the task of caulking the crown molding.
The Finishing Company provides free crown molding estimates. The average cost of crown
molding installation depends on a number of different factors. First the quantity of crown
molding you require, is it a one member crown molding or a two member crown molding or an
even more built up crown molding. The length of each wall and the height of the ceiling . The
cost of crown molding installation would also depend on the number of inside and outside
corners in each room as installing the crown molding at the corners requires more work. The
cost of the crown molding installation would also depend on the type of material used, a finger
jointed crown molding, a mdf crown molding, or a hardwood crown molding, a simple crown
molding profile or a more intricate crown molding profile. Kitchen cabinet crown molding
costs more than installing standard crown molding as the process is more complex and the
crown molding materials is more expensive. As a whole the average cost of crown molding is
not expensive and is a valuable upgrade to your home. Please email or call The Finishing
Company today for your free crown molding estimate.
